From a sustainability point of view, it is indisputable that the Metal & Mining (M&M) sector has an unfavourable reputation as a heavily polluting and environmentally damaging sector. At the same time, it is slowly being acknowledged that the sector is also the source of a number of raw materials which are key inputs into several green technologies associated with renewable energy, the reduction of GHGs and energy efficiency.
